TopView 7.1 License decommission and transfer process
A TopView customer can move TopView from their currently
licensed machine to a new machine. This requires a transfer of the license for
the current machine to the new machine.
Overview
of license transfer steps:
- Inform Exele support of the desire to move your
TopView license (support@exele.com).
Please include the current license file. How
to locate your TopView license file (exele.com) - Exele support will send you a temporary license
for the new machine
- New
machine:
- Old
machine:
- Run
the TopView Configurator, click the [License] button in the upper right
corner
- Click
Tools…Deactivate this machine
- Save
the generated deactivation string to a text file
- On
the old and new machines, run the TopView Computer Information Tool
- Start
> All Apps > Exele TopView > TopView Computer Information Tool
- Save
the generated computer information string to a text file (both machines)
- Fill
out the attached decommission letter and have the letter signed by a
representative of the company (licensee)
- Email
the following 4 items to Exele support (support@exele.com)
- Signed
decommission letter
- Old
machine: Deactivation string (text file)
- Old
machine: Output from Computer Information Tool string (text file)
- New
machine: Output from Computer Information Tool string (text file)
- Exele
support will send you a permanent license for the new machine
