Text messages are not received through networked cellular modem

If TopView does not appear to receive text messages through a networked cellular modem, it may be because the SIM card does not have memory for message storage. This may occur in systems with the following characteristics:
  • TopView is using the MultiTech rCell 100 modem, connected via ethernet
  • Verizon is the carrier
  • No messages sent to the SIM's number appear in the inbox in the modem's administration site
This can occur because some Verizon SIM cards issued since Q1 2017 do not allow storage of messages to the SIM card. To remedy this issue, you will need a SIM card that allows the storage of incoming messages. A new card can be ordered from Verizon. More information about this issue is available from MultiTech.
