TopView.ScadaConnectivity.exe file reported as missing after installation (and subsequent repairs)

Problem

After an upgrade to TopView 7.7.1.8, installation may go smoothly except for one missing file after verification:
"[Path to]\TopView.ScadaConnectivity.exe".

Repair and re-installs can be performed but if the file keeps coming up missing, TopView will warn of the missing file during runtime and at Configurator application startup.

We think this file is getting flagged by IT solutions during installation and is being prevented from being deployed to the computer.

Explanation

This file provides a fall back to legacy behaviors for particular systems and configurations. It's rarely needed by modern TopView installations.

Resolutions

  1. Create a "TopView.ScadaConnectivity.exe" text file in the expected location. It doesn't do anything but it bypasses the warning.
  2. Do nothing, and ignore the warnings. TopView Engines do not leverage this file and run fine without its presence.
