Citect OPC Server on Windows 7

Citect OPC Server on Windows 7

This is a general support posting regarding TopView OPC communicating to Citect OPC Server on Windows 7.

The two issues that a TopView user may experience are:

  1. TopView can connect to the OPC Server but reports that the server is not in a “running” state
  2. While browsing for OPC tags in the TopView Configurator, selecting a tag in the result list displays an error for QueryAvailableProperties

Both of these issues can be resolved through DCOM settings for the Citect OPC Server computer.

Please contact Citect for the knowledge base article describing the required steps for configuring the Citect OPC Server to run properly on Windows 7.
